Croatia/Montenegro

(1) Pearl of the Adriatic

12 days, 11 nights

Overview:
Emerging from the shadows of the former Yugoslavia, Croatia is the newest gem of Europe. It’s easy to see why with bustling cities, rugged mountains, and a sun-drenched coastline full of islands. Each city is different from the next and the islands of Brac, Hvar, and Korcula make Croatia a mecca for boaters and yacht enthusiast worldwide. Dubrovnik and neighboring Montenegro are growing more popular by the minute, and the best time to visit is off season to avoid the crowds.

The Basics:
You’ll start your adventure in Split, Croatia. After one night in Split, you’ll take a ferry ride across the Adriatic to the island of Brac. Stay amongst the olive groves and orange trees in the hills above the village of Supetar (four nights). Check out the stunning views of Zlatni Rat on Bol beach from the peak of Vidova Gora. After exploring the quaint seaside town of Brac on a Vespa, the group will drive down the mountainous coastline to reach the Pearl of the Adriatic: Dubrovnik. Once controlled by Venice, the famed walled city is a historical and architectural marvel.  You can walk the city walls, take a guided tour, or pace your way through the medieval city at your leisure. Cliff jumping off Lokrum Island is not to be missed. A two day trip to the mountains and coast of Montenegro is in order before returning to Split to fly home.

Additional options:
- Private boat ride to Lopud Island west of Dubrovnik’s coast.
- Visit neighboring Bosnia
- Island hopping in Dubrovnik via speedboats.
- Explore ruins in Kotor Montenegro.

Physical difficulty: EASY

My husband and I took the trip to Croatia and loved it. What a fantastic country, we travelled all over, but our favorite place was the little town of Supetar on Brac Island. It helps to have a guide so you don’t have to worry. We are planning our next trip to somewhere in South America.

I’ve been all over Europe, but never to Croatia. Our group was really cool and we partied so much in Dubrovnik I almost missed my flight home. Thanks again guys!
