(1) Eat, Sleep, Breath Surfing

Overview
Practice makes perfect. Many people go to Costa Rica learning to surf, but come back with nothing more than a nice photo. In this vacation, your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to come back home a surfer. Staying with other surfers on the famed surfer’s Mecca of Mal Pais, you will wake up every day to surf. Included is your board rental for the week. A few side trips will keep it fresh, but this is for the most adventurous, those who want to trade examining Excel spreadsheets for a stress-free week of catching waves like Kelly Slater.
The Basics
Fly into the capital of San Jose and drive to Mal Pais in a private vehicle. Stay oceanfront at a surf hostel for a week to learn surfing. Enjoy full accommodation in a spacious and friendly atmosphere with breakfast and dinner daily. Four days of private surf lessons and rentals plus the use of all facilities at the campsite. This trip is for the rugged traveler who wants to just disconnect from the world for a week and unwind on a surf board.
Day trips:
- Visit neighboring beach of Santa Teresa.
- Trek through the rainforests of Mal Pais.
- Morning yoga on the beach.

(2) The Surf and Turf
10 days, 9 nights
Overview:
With a country as diverse as Costa Rica, it’s hard for some to choose between activities. With this trip, you can get the best of two trips in one. For the first half of the trip, explore the inner beauty of Costa Rica’s rich eco-system. Hike through the rainforest, ride horse back through the ranch territory, and tour a modern-day macadamia plantation. On the second leg of your trip, it’s time to get to the beach. Whether you prefer surfing, deep sea fishing or scuba diving, the waters off Costa Rica are sure to please everyone.
The Basics:
Fly into Liberia and drive via private vehicle to the Costa Rican rainforests of Rincon de la Vieja. Spend 4 nights in the rainforest: hiking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, and visiting plantations. You will even hike up an active volcano. Then, drive down to the beaches of Guanacaste for another 5 days of fun in the sun.
